Introducing Wanaka! 🏔️

Born in Kutchan and raised in Hirafu, Wanaka’s journey is as unique as it gets. She’s not your average mountain dweller, folks! 🏂

Meet our eco-warrior extraordinaire, who moonlights as a part-time hero for “Protect our Winters” (POW) to ensure we all keep shredding those snowy slopes together. ❄️

Wanaka’s the powerhouse behind the Niseko Eco Project, our local environmental champion promoting sustainability in the area. 🌿

We’re beyond lucky and proud to have her on our team. 🙌

Wanaka’s no stranger to the slopes, having hit the powder at the tender age of three and spent a solid decade mastering mogul skiing. After retiring from competition, she ventured off to Salt Lake City, Utah, where her love for early childhood education was kindled while interning as a teacher at a daycare.

Since returning to Niseko, she’s been sharing her passion for skiing with the little ones. Plus, you’ll find her rocking the role of an assistant teacher in the Early Years class at Hokkaido International School. 🎿

Wanaka’s a firm believer in the wonders of the great outdoors. She’s all about nature’s role in nurturing kids’ creativity, problem-solving skills, independence, and confidence. 🌞

Oh, did we mention she lives in a semi-off-grid eco bus house? Yep, you read that right! And she’s currently transforming an old cold house into a swanky, eco-friendly abode. ♻️

Wanaka is the heartbeat of the Hokkaido Vibe, and without her wisdom and expertise, we wouldn’t be the vibrant community we are today. 🏡💚
